What to do if you are stuck in a loop of anxious thoughts that just won’t stop?
One helpful technique is to pause and become purposefully aware of the present moment, the here and now.
Take a very deep breath and slowly exhale. Ask yourself the following questions.
Where am I?
What am I doing?
Who am I with?
What do I see?
What do I hear?
What can I smell?
Your answers help your brain focus on the reality of your present situation instead of getting caught up in the anxiety loop.
