When a difficult, anxious, or worry thought comes to your mind, how do you respond?
What happens if you do nothing? Next time one of these thoughts shows up, pause for a moment. Notice how the thought makes you feel, notice how your body is preparing to respond.
Question the thought. Is it a rational thought or an anxiety thought? What happens if you just mentally check off the anxiety thought without responding to it?
Part of learning to cope better with anxiety is learning to sort out your thoughts, Realize that some thoughts are just noise and you do not have to emotionally or physically respond to those.
